A 7-month-old lad was found beaten to death Sunday in a Near North Side [i]cabaret[/i] where he had been living with his mother, authorities said.
Shmar Stuckey was establish on a bed in the Carling inn 1512 N. La Salle, after his mother notified police about 11:30 pm that he was not responsive, authorities said.
The mother allegedly told police that she last saw her son about 7:30 pm and that earlier in the day her son had been spitting up posterity and there also was line coming from his nose, according to a source.
The death was rul a homicide from obtuse trauma. No charges had been filed by way of Monday evening, and detectives were interviewing the baby's mother and her boyfriend.
A manager from the tavern refused to comment when reached from phone.
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services has exhibited an investigation. A spokesman for the agency said there's been no prior contact with the family.
